DeGruyter and Agricultural Engineering - information

Dear Sirs,

Editor's office of „AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING” hereby informs that since 2015 according to the decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education it has 10 points.

In order to raise the quality of services related to publishing and availability of your articles on the international arena, the Journal concluded a contract with the international publishing concern „De Gruyter” ( Currently, De Gruyter publishes over 900 journals and series including those with an open access to over 500 titles (; it cooperates with such institutions as: The University of Oxford, The University of Oslo, Southampton University, Dublin City University, The Max Planck Society, GfK Verein.

Under the concluded contract, our articles will be sent to international services which abstract and index journals from the De Gruyter platform. These are inter alia: Celdes, CNKI Scholar (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), CNPIEC, EBSCO Discovery Service, Google Scholar, J-Gate, Naviga (Softweco), Primo Central (ExLibris), ReadCube, Summon (Serials Solutions/ProQuest), TDOne (TDNet), WorldCat (OCLC). Moreover, as a part of the contract, De Gruyter on behalf of the Editor's office will apply to Thomson Scientific (Institute for Scientific Information) to place „Agricultural Engineering” on the ISI Master Journal List. According to the procedure the journal obtains Impact Factor in the 3rd year of publishing. After official application is made, Thomson Reuters has at least 12-18 months to evaluate the journal. If it is positive, the journal is placed on the Thomson's Master Journal List and is indexed in the Web of Science. In the following year Thomson calculates citing number to the articles published in two previous annual volumes of the journal. Thus, the first Impact Factor may be announced only in the 3rd annual volume.

We also inform that the Presidium of the 2nd Department of the Polish Academy of Sciences issued a decision which as of 30th December 2015 liquidates as a part of reorganization, the Committee on Agricultural Engineering under the auspices of which our journal was published. Our journal still operates within the structures of the Polish Society of Agricultural Engineering and due to the involvement of the Editor-in-chief and favour of the President of CIGR (International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering) we obtained CIGR auspices and as a result our Scientific society has become recognized in the scientific environment not only in Poland but also globally. It endows us with a chance to distinguish the selected (outstanding) monographies which is very important not only for the Authors but also for the Scientific Units who face future parametrization.

The Polish Society of Agricultural Engineering according to its status cannot carry out economic activity and thus cannot gain income thereof. The publishing activity is based only on payments for scientific publications. Therefore, we are forced to introduce payments for publications in „Agricultural Engineering”.

Since January 2016 rates for publication of articles in our journal are as follows:

  • article (up to 10 pages) in Polish - PLN 1000 + VAT (Journal incurs the costs of translation and proofreading of a text)
  • article (up to 10 pages) in English - PLN 650 + VAT

Since 2017:

We presented our activities in the near future and at the same time we are grateful to the Authors for their articles, which in the reviewers' opinions are very valuable and considerably extend knowledge in the field of agricultural engineering.

We also encourage you to send articles.

Kind regards
